The Solar road made for the bicycle riders for the purpose of generating energy in "NETHERLAND" that connects Amsterdam. It is a 70 meter long road and it was launched on 12th nov 2014.
This solar road is made in the cost of €3million and the government is hoping that it will be expand up to 100 meter long. Approx 2000 cyclists can be ride on this road in a day. This project is made up of crystalline silicon solar cells under the concrete of the path and covered with the translucent tempered glass.
This path is known to be "SOLA" road. It generates 30 % less energy because of position to the sun. This solar road is angled slightly to throw water off and achieve better sun rays.
